It was discovered following the works done for the construction of apartment blocks in the fall of 1959. Originally, the construction stretched over three of the four terraces of the Tomitan port seafront. The first terrace was located at the current level of Pieta Ovidiu and connected to one of the public squares of the ancient city.<\/p>\n\n
Several warehouses and the impressive hall with the mosaic floor occupied the next terrace of the building. The mosaic hall represented the actual meeting place of merchants and officials of the time. The last terrace was located at the level of the quays of the ancient port and included a series of vaulted warehouses, today covered with limestone.<\/p>\n
The Roman Mosaic Building is a monumental ancient construction located in the immediate vicinity of the Museum of National History and Archeology Constan\u0163a, on the seafront between Pia\u0163a Ovidiu and Aleea Marinarilor.<\/p>\n
